Dreaming is a Birthright

Dreaming is a Birthright

Dreaming is your birthright is a journey of remembering ourselves as ancestral beings, listening to the dreams that have been calling us, and allowing the dream world to guide us back into relationship with our bodies, our lineages, our powers and the futures we are here to imagine.

Dreaming is not passive. It is an active dialogue with ancestors, spirit and self. It is our birthright to be guided and helped by our dreams. Join us for a transformative experience that honours African spirituality and our bodies' wisdom.

We invite you to come home to your dreaming — to gather with us in this sacred space and remember what your soul has always known.

About Your Guides

Nomzamo Mji

My work as an advocate, yoga educator and restorative justice consultant is based on a deep commitment to repair. I am the co founder of The Toolbox, a wellness centre established in 2016 with the mission of sharing tools for self and social repair. Rooted in the wisdom of Ubuntu, we recognise that personal and collective wellbeing are deeply interconnected. We support the process of repair by sharing accessible tools that demystify healing and balance mental, emotional and physical health. We offer pathways for self repair through yoga instruction and holistic health coaching.

As a restorative justice consultant, I support individuals and organisations to navigate conflict as an opportunity for growth. In all my roles, I support people to feel, heal and deal.

Nomfundo Zama

I am uNomfundo wakwaZama, uMkabayi kaGcugcwa, The Zulu Soul Doula, an African ancestral indigenous healer, herbalist, and founder of Initiate Africa, a healing and learning space rooted in African indigenous wisdom, ancestral remembrance, and embodied transformation.

My work moves through ancestral wisdom, plant medicine, movement, dreamwork, family healing, community care, and liberatory imagination. Rooted in calling, I walk as a companion to lineages, families, and the land, holding spaces that support people to remember what survival, silence, and disconnection may have interrupted, but never erased.

I move through three braided embodiments: uMkabayi kaGcugcwa, the ancestral source of my knowing; Nomfundo, the human vessel, builder and facilitator; and The Zulu Soul Doula, the bridge between spirit and structure. Through my practice, I support people to meet themselves with honesty, dignity and power, remembering themselves as living ancestors while staying present to the futures asking to be born.
